Periphery examines the marginalization of Black life in contemporary American society. Figures wearing hoodies confront the negative associations attached to Blackness in spaces where stereotypes can obscure individual humanity. Through restrained poses and body language, the series considers the psychological experience of occupying spaces in which one is perceived as unwelcome, moving between nervousness, introspection, and resignation.
